Recorded by Owain Fleetwood Jenkins at StudiOwz, early morning April 12th, 2017. Take 7. Erlend added the wurlitzer the day after.
We learnt this song by Evo Bluestein in Dunlap, CA, May 2016. He composed the melody, and created the lyrics by borrowing the chorus from the Irish traditional song The Maid Freed from the Gallows, often known as The Streets of Derry, adding his own verses to it, and thus creating a whole new song. We've modified some of the verses in our version of Evo's Circle Song.
lyrics
After morning, there comes an evening
and after evening, another day
and after false love, there comes a true one
it's hard to hold them that will not stay
As the long summer turns to winter
each day a little colder than the last
each step will take you ever further
until you know your summer days are past
And after morning […]
And if in time, you feel a sadness
you know my song has, words to say
A tune to hum all through the winter
until another summer's day
And after morning […]
And so the seasons change their colors
and time must bring each one in turn
but winter leaves its hand upon us
and that's the lesson we shall learn
And after morning […]
